1. What does your current CD collection say about you?
that im not home very often
 2. What song would be the theme tune to your life right now? Please explain.
passing through by leonard cohen.. 'sometimes happy sometimes blue
im glad that i ran into you, when you see them will you tell them i was passing through'
 3. First record you ever bought and why?
it was a uriah heep single.. called on the rebound.. pure cock rock.. i bought it because the artwork was so
good.. it was a devil of some kind, all red and angry, the artwork made the song sound better too..
 4. Top 3 CD recommendations? Why?
red apple falls {smog} the hangmans beautiful daughter {incredible string band} and maybe the songs of leonard cohen{his first record} because ive loved them records in every mood, if the true effect of music or art is to make time stop and the world disolve into the backround then these records do that, they always bring me back to a good place
a great record can be heard in the morning and in bed at night.. good albums are old friends..
 5. Been to any good gigs lately? Why was it so good?
radiohead in the point depot was the highlight of the year for me so far.. the energy from the band and audience fused into a very intimate thing.. it was incredible to witness a band at such a creative place and there audience going every step with them.. a rare thing.. i left a lighter person.. and heavier in a way..

 6. Most embarrassing record you own? Why?
somewhere in the mid eighties i got into marillion after hearing me mate rave about them, i bought "MISPLACED CHILDHOOD" and liked it so much!.. it appealed to the pink floyd fan in me.. i dont want to slag off the band but recently i found it and stuck it on for nostalgia's sake and found myself wondering why i ever bought it.. it's just not my cup a tea anymore.. some records age faster than others.. although i love pink floyd more than most, i cant listen to "THE WALL" anymore.. for the same reason..

 7. What CD would you buy, just for the pleasure of throwing in the bin?
none.. im not that flush, or angry..
 8. Favourite record shop? Why?
road records on fade st.. because its always well stocked and if they dont have the record you want they"ll sit and go online and find the distributor and order it there and then for you.. plus its an independantly run buisness and when you spend your money there you can get a sense of where it's going.. often straight to the band.. and in my eyes thats a good thing.. i think something very significant has been happened in dublin since the opening road records.. a whole group of irish independant singers and bands have been able to sell there records there and at other independent stores around ireland, and therefore have been able to build a strong audience without the aid of major publicity or record lables.. which gives the bands the freedom to make the music without interfearence from marketing minds or the opinions of people who control the money.. and most importantly they dont have to pay these people 10 times what they earn, for the privilige of there opinion..
 9. Who/What inspires you, musically?
what inspires me are the ones who are just doing the work.. its hard to be totally unconcerned about what the world around you thinks but there are people making music that seem to have adopted the healthy attitude that "the world is sick and im well" and if you dont get it, thats ok.. the term "avant guard" means "frontline"these were the soldiers in the war who would charge 100 feet shooting and screaming and knowing they would die gaining ground for their country.  On an artistic level there are many musicians painters, artists, who have and will die without recognition or money, but they have raised the bar for the next generation to live up to.. these people inspire and give poetry to something thats become more and more blatantly marketing centered over recent years.. or maybe it's always been like that..
 10. Who would you most like to do a duet with and why?
ive been a pixies fan for so long.. and last year i was asked would i drive frank black to wittness seeing as though i was going down anyway, of course i was exited about spending a bit of time with him, he's one of my heroes! to make a long but great story short we got on.. and went and did a session with tom dunne in dublin after wittness and sang a few tunes together and i must say it meant more to me than it could ever have meant to him.. it was a genuine highlight of my life..

Consumer:
 1. Describe your sense of style?
shabby..
 2. Who is your style icon and why?
my grandad.. ive realized through hanging out with him and seeing old photos that he's always looked great.. in photos me da has gone through many styles, the tom jones afro in the 70's and the gangster leather jacket in the 80's.. but my grandad has always been a consistantly cool geezer.. i think the older folk have it.. they reach an age here they want to be comfortable.. suits and a shirt and good shoes.. i hope i look like him if i get there..
 3. Describe your approach to shopping?
i like to shop.. i like days when i have time and money.. rare.. i like to go out and spend money.. i like thrift stores a lot.. theres more exitement in a thrifty.. the chance of a bargain.. shopping in dublin is crap.. there's no surprise.. you can count on everything being more expensive than you would have hoped.. i tend to wait till im in the states to buy any instruments or anything electronic.. dublin takes the joy out of it a bit,,
 4. Do you find it difficult to go out and about without being recognised?

 9. Latest bargain buy?
the bass!
 10. Most ever spent on an item? Was it worth it?
i spent 2000 on guitar last year! it was totally worth it! instruments are objects of desire for musicians but there also tools.. this one was definately desire.. very handsome!
 11. Describe your relationship with your credit card?
INTIMATE! we've been so close and weve fallen out so many times too.. and we sometimes go through long periods of time when we don't talk at all.. but then when we get back together its brilliant!

 Lifestyle:
 1. Describe your average weekend?
i realy dont have an average weekend.. if im in dublin, maybe a few pints .. or just catching up with me mates..
 2. Favourite Dublin pub? Why?
whelans wexford street.. because ive had so many memorable nights there and the staff are mates.. i think places grow on you.. its never a decision to like somewhere most it just evolves and if im going out in dublin ill go there.. its hard to get a seat in it these days though.. it's always packed.. but i think that's every pub isnt it.. it was said that as a nation we drank too much because we were opressed and poor.. but since the economy has done so well, were drinking twice as much as before.. thats that argument blown..
 3. Favourite café for a mid-morning cuppa? Why?
simons cafe in georges arcade.. its one of the only places left that isnt trying to be "posh" dublin is fast becoming one big cafe bar! its next to impossible to find anywhere serving breakfast in town anymore! all the greasy spoons have been crushed due to high rents, or bought out and converted to wine bars..its a pity and frustrating.. the turning point was when bewleys in grafton street turned into a high end  "no poor folk" restaurant.. i remember one night after id been going there for years and we were asked to leave.. it was a real turning point for me..  i haven't been back there since..
 4. Top hangover cure?
a can of coke followed by solpadien then back to sleep for another 5 hours and then more solpadien and the tv for the night.. and maybe a late pint..
 5. Have you ever indulged in supermarket flirtation?
not to my knowledge.. well maybe.. i did fall for a checkout girl in super value in dingle one time.. i told her a joke.. {how do you know E.T. is a protestant? because he looks like one} and she didnt laugh.. she just said "im a protestant" i left it there..
 6. Most technological gadget you possess?
this computer..
 7. What's on your bedside locker?
solpadien..
 8. What does your bedroom décor say about you?
it says stay at home for more than a night sometime..
 9. Where would you most like to be right now?
right here.. {czech republic}
 10. If your house were on fire, what three (purchasable) possessions would you save and why?
my guitar, my journal, my tape recorder.. because they have everything of value in my life contained within..
 11. Finally, if we gave you 1,000 Euro right now, where would you spend it and what on?
id call up all my friends and invite them for an evening on me.. we'd eat well and get drunk and we might even have enough for a taxi home.. if we're in czech republic maybe..
