Rob Harvilla
5 out of 5 For you cynics who dismiss
all live albums as souless, worthless contractual obligations or cash grabs,
a) you're almost always right, and b) here's one where you're wrong. Ireland's
the Frames make quiet, melancholy art-folk records, but this 16 track live
excursion thunders like U2 caliber arena rock spiked with furious guitar
thunderstorms, soothed by fabulous ballads ("What Happens When The Heart
Just Stops") and absorbed by a clearly elated crowd that screams along
to every word. Grab a Guiness and go, mates. |
